Roger Emmerson celebrates 50 years as a Freemason!

W.Bro. Roger Emmerson celebrated his 50th year in Freemasonry at the meeting of Guthlaxton Lodge No.7717 in November 2016.

Guthalxton Lodge was honoured that R.W. Bro. David Hagger, the Provincial Grand Master of Leicestershire and Rutland was able to present W.Bro. Roger with a commemorative certificate.

W.Bro. Roger was initiated in Guthlaxton Lodge on the 16th November 1966 and was its Master in 1978 and again in 2012. He is a Founder member of Reynard Lodge No.9285 which was consecrated in 1989 and was installed as Master in 1997. He was appointed PPGReg in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Leicestershire and Rutland in 1999 and subsequently promoted to PPJGW in 2007 and PPSGW in 2015.

To add to the occasion, at the Festive Board Guthlaxton Lodge was presented with a Guthlaxton Lodge Founder’s Jewel by W.Bro. Adrian de. R. Pearse of Holmes Lodge No.4656. The jewel was discovered when a member of Holmes Lodge passed away and was found his Regalia.

The jewel was presented to the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Dorian McKillop who immediately presented it to W.Bro. Roger Emmerson as a memento from the Lodge for the special occasion of his reaching 50 years in the Craft.

W.Bro. Roger, while initially lost for words, expressed his deep and sincere thanks to everyone for the wonderful occasion.
